Landscape Architect III

As a graduate of Iowa State University, Sarah is a professional landscape architect for JSD, creating exciting spaces for outdoor use in both the public and private sectors. She is also a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, along with serving on the Executive Committee as President-Elect for the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

She shared that the most gratifying part of her role at JSD is seeing projects built and the faces of children as they see a new park for the first time! But if she could have any job in the world and didn’t have to necessarily be concerned about income, she would love to simply be a gift-giver…

Sarah and her husband have a daughter and son, and a dog named Peppa. Outside of work she enjoys camping, traveling and visiting new playgrounds!

Marigold, for my positive outlook and go-with-the-flow attitude

If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island and your basic human needs—such as food and water—were provided, what other two items would you want to have with you?

If you found a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million, how do you spend it?
I would start a program to assist the homeless, helping them find housing, mental health services, and basic necessities, while providing ongoing support services and connect them with local community members.
