Growth on its own is great, but when you pair it with the ability to adapt, then you’ve really got something. Becoming bigger AND better: that’s the formula for success that has driven JSD to become a premier provider of building project development services.

In the beginning, Dave Jenkins, with a nudge from his wife, set up shop in his basement to start his land surveying company in 1998…and it was all about growth. His purpose was to positively impact local businesses by offering quality land surveying services, while also understanding that adding an engineering services sooner than later would only expand the business. Overcoming the challenges that come with such a venture, Dave’s business took off as he also acquired a company in 2008 to bring on additional engineering staff, including a planning department and landscape architect team for the business! Just a year later, structural engineering was added to the repertoire.

Recognizing developments in the industry and the changing needs of the countless communities it served, JSD continued its transformation, growing into a proven provider of sustainable, creative, solutions from conception through grand opening. From surveying, engineering, landscape architecture and planning, all the way to adding a development services consulting team in 2018, JSD moved from a small office with a handful of employees to an established local, regional and national business with seven offices in four states. Yet, we’ve stayed true to our humble roots.

It’s our passion, commitment and bootstrap mentality that keep so many of our clients coming back— some for nearly 25 years. It’s that type of commitment EVERY DAY that motivates JSD to forge ahead on our path of growth and to evolve into a stronger company, creating better spaces for our communities where people can have more fun, get more done and live life better.
