JSD was hired as consultants for the River Trails Park District for the renovation of Aspen Trails Park. Two successful public meetings were held to gather community input regarding the concept plans and final master plan for the park site. In addition, JSD authored the OSLAD Grant application for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), which was awarded in January, 2020.

The park site included extensive collaboration with the Village of Mount Prospect as the site includes an underground detention system. The 17 acre-feet underground stormwater detention vault lies beneath the tennis court, basketball court, and baseball field.

The redeveloped park serves all age groups and includes a creative play area for 2-12 year olds with synthetic turf surfacing, full-court basketball, tennis court, baseball field, soccer fields, an open play area, shelter and a path network that facilitates access throughout the site.
