JSD provided planning and landscape architecture services to the Village of Weston in support of the village’s ongoing planning efforts to develop and refine adopted parks and recreation facilities plans. JSD provided assistance and documentation for three park sites, including The Weston Avenue Recreation Center Facility, Kellyland Park and Yellow Banks Park.

The JSD team reviewed materials developed by the village and their consultant team, including site analyses, facilities studies, proposed improvement plans, schematic plans and preliminary cost estimates. From those documents, JSD developed a village-wide park comprehensive master plan that focused on connectivity between recreational sites, including bicycle, snowmobile and pedestrian routes.

As part of the scope of work, JSD also refined individual park master plans and documents, making recommendations for park improvements, including parking areas, playgrounds, shelters, athletic fields, pedestrian access, connectivity and where site amenities, such as trail access, could be enhanced.
