JSD was hired by the City of Lockport, Illinois to update their existing 2003 Bicycle Master Plan. Two focus groups and a public open house were held on January 31, 2019, to gather community input and feedback from residents and stakeholders. JSD toured the existing trails, developed GIS maps, and prepared recommendations for new bike trail locations, which included addressing sidewalk gaps and reviewing implementation strategies. In addition, the public comments and city input received were used to evaluate and implement additional opportunities for recreational amenities, alternate modes of transportation, and in creating connections with the City of Lockport to surrounding communities and trail systems.
