The Community Park District (CPD) hired JSD to prepare a Comprehensive Master Plan. This plan will identify trends in parks and recreation, take a detailed look at the District and the community that it serves, and provide a five-year action plan created to support the Park District’s mission and vision. Our creative team consists of ARCON Associates for facility assessment and master plan visioning; as well as Campfire Concepts for strategic operational planning, financial and programming assessment, and developing a statistically valid community-wide survey.

JSD’s landscape architects are inventorying the existing parks with on-site assessments, analyzing community demographics trends with ArcGIS technology, as well as facilitating community-wide public engagement through in person and synchronous virtual public workshops. This culmination of research, as well as ARCON Associates’ refined building planning diagrams and Campfire Concept’s synthesized community data, will diagnose the needs of the community.

Using this information, JSD will assemble a final plan document including goals and measurable objectives for each key area of plan recommendations. This plan will serve as the official document to be used by the Park District as a guide regarding programming, facility, and maintenance improvements for its residents.
