The Carbon at Union Corners development includes two four-story, mixed-use apartment buildings and consists of 60 affordable and market rate rental apartment homes for families.

JSD provided survey, civil engineering and landscape architectural services for the construction. The project included engineering and site development for newly constructed buildings and on-site and off-site improvements for building access, parking and pedestrian connectivity. Landscape architectural services were provided in developing an integrated site design that featured a public plaza, terrace, and outdoor seating for commercial tenants. Stormwater management was integrated into a Riverwalk pedestrian connection that featured native plant species and a stream bed that connected multiple sites within the development.

JSD provided support and coordination throughout the review and approval processes for the City of Madison Urban Design Commission and Plan Commission. In addition, construction drawings, documentation, and administration were provided throughout the construction phase of this project.
