What was once a large parking lot housing hundreds of WisDOT employee vehicles will soon be transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use destination within the prominent Madison Hill Farms neighborhood. The 13-acre site will undoubtedly become one of Madison’s unique places to live, work, and play.

The overall design intent for Madison Yards draws upon the natural beauty of its surrounding context, including vistas and rolling hills, as well as its urban infill setting. The JSD design team played a key role in developing the design for the overall streetscape within the development, site amenities, courtyard open spaces, and public “Central Green” that is not only complementary to the contemporary architecture, but that also creates a cohesive urban environment.

As part of this project, JSD has also played a key role in managing and developing public plan improvements, including transportation infrastructure, sanitary sewer, and watermain improvements. Our local expertise has positioned the JSD team as the entitlement “lead” for the project and put our leaders in the ‘driver’s seat’ overseeing the coordination of the project team and deliverables.
