JSD provided site engineering and landscape architecture services for the expansion of the Exact Sciences building of the Novation Campus in the Town of Madison, Wisconsin. Exact Sciences required a quick expansion of their facility due to the approval by the FDA of a groundbreaking cancer screening test. JSD reacted quickly to the request to design, bid and oversee the construction of the parking expansion to accommodate the rapid increase in workforce.

JSD provided civil site design services including stormwater management and treatment design, pavement design and lot layout to include vehicle movement analysis. JSD also provided complete landscape design services and coordinated the site lighting of the parking expansion. Design services required consideration of existing facilities and planning for future expansions.

JSD coordinated approval of the project through the Town of Madison, City of Fitchburg, Dane County and the State of Wisconsin. The site is a reclaimed land fill site with unique environmental considerations and soil conditions that required special design and construction techniques.
Following approval of the project, JSD assisted Exact Sciences with the bidding and award of a construction contract. JSD provided construction contract administration and on-site observation to provide the completed construction on the required schedule. The project was completed on schedule, allowing Exact Sciences to provide their new staff with safe and aesthetically pleasing parking.
