Memorial Medical Center & Marshfield Clinic

JSD provided professional consulting services for the new $48 million Marshfield critical care access hospital in Neillsville, Wisconsin. Located on a rural, 40+ acre site, JSD supported Memorial Medical Center and Marshfield Clinic’s partnership in designing, permitting and preparing the site for construction.

JSD provided professional surveying, civil engineering, offsite improvement design, environmental permitting and landscape architectural services for the site. Pre-development services included the coordination of transportation improvements, design of public water and sanitary main extensions, approvals and permitting, preparations for construction and environmental services to include wetland permitting through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the United States Army Corps of Engineers in gaining critical site access. This permitting was critical to providing key access to the site and preparations for construction neighboring the Black River, a state and federal waterway.

JSD coordinated team stakeholders as a collaborative delivery for construction documentation. Site engineering was critical in securing access to the site, management of significant graded slopes, avoidance of environmentally sensitive site areas and mitigation of highly variable soil conditions of a previously undeveloped agricultural site.
