Verona Area School District Athletic Facilities
Verona, WI
JSD is proud to have been a partner on the nearly 600,000-square-foot Verona Area High School which opened for the 2020 2021 school year. JSD provided planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and land surveying services for the Verona Area School District’s successful referendum, one of the largest in Wisconsin’s history.
The $182 million referendum included a new high school campus and improvements to additional district facilities. The high school campus was designed to work with the challenging terrain and provide intuitive circulation for day-to-day activities as well as special events. The project provides ample parking, new competition and practice sports fields, synthetic turf football/lacrosse and soccer fields, tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, a full cross-country course, environmental learning areas incorporated within the stormwater management design, and outdoor class space.
JSD partnered with the architect to ensure the design of outdoor elements was cohesive with the architecture of the buildings. JSD also provided the design of public roadway improvements to accommodate the additional traffic generated by the campus.
