Urban League Black Business Hub

Madison, WI

Slated for the Village on Park mall property at the corner of South Park Street and Hughes Place, the Urban League’s Black Business Hub plans to open its door in summer 2023. The Hub will be Madison’s premiere enterprise center devoted to accelerating and offering networking for entrepreneurs of businesses owned by people of color.

JSD worked extensively alongside the City of Madison, the Community Development Authority and the Urban League to provide civil engineering and landscape architecture for the project. This included site design, utility improvements, underground stormwater management design, and Phase II ESA and Material Management Plan coordination. In addition, our team took the lead on entitlement assistance and major public plan improvements within Hughes place.

The Hub is a 4-story, 76,000 square foot, state of the art center of commerce and entrepreneurism with onsite resources and support services led by Black business owners and entrepreneurs. The development is strategically located in downtown Madison, visible from the Beltline Highway in the heart of Madison’s oldest multi-cultural neighborhood.
