Union Corners
Madison, WI
The Carbon at Union Corners is a mixed-use development site in the City of Madison. The site features a pair of four-story buildings, with 60 affordable, market-rate rental apartment homes mixed with commercial and office spaces at the ground level. An additional mixed-use building is going up with a large community green space to be used for larger social gatherings and events.
JSD provided survey, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for the construction. The project included engineering and site development for newly constructed buildings, as well as on-site and off-site improvements for building access, parking, and pedestrian connectivity.
The site’s stormwater management integrated native plant species and a stream bed alongside a pedestrian walkway. Landscape architecture services featured an integrated site design with a public plaza, terrace, and outdoor seating for commercial tenants.
JSD assisted the client throughout the review and approval processes for the City of Madison Urban Design Commission and Plan Commission. Once the project entered the construction phase, JSD provided
construction drawings, documentation, and administration to see the project through completion.
