Tyler Dahlheimer, P.L.S

Project Surveyor

Tyler Dahlheimer is a Project Surveyor for JSD, providing a variety of in-office and field tasks including research, review, and preparation of survey documents for new jobs. He serves as a mentor and takes the lead with field crews and technicians as well as communicates with clients and project team members.

Tyler has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering from St. Cloud Technical and Community College. His very first job was serving as a “dock boy” at a local resort, taking care of the resort grounds, selling bait, helping clients with boats/lifts, and putting in or pulling out docks in the freezing spring and fall water. But what’s his dream job? He enjoys the investigative service branch of national parks!

One thing you would not know about Tyler is that he was raised around horses with a grandmother who had a barn with seven Arabian horses. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, smoking meat/food, and cutting wood (more of an obligation!) He and his wife have three kids, a black lab named Riggins and 10 chickens!

If you could build a phone app to help you do something, what would it do?
Something that could somehow cut, split, and stack wood for me.

If you were shipwrecked on an island, what are two items you think you’d need?
If basic human needs are provided, then matches for a fire and a cocktail.
