The Derby Apartments are a 70-unit affordable housing residence with 1,100 square feet of ground-floor community engagement office space. Of the 70 units, 59 will be offered at varying percentages of affordability. With partial funding from the project provided by the Wisconsin and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), 14 of the units will meet WHEDA accessibility requirements. The project was designed to meet Enterprise Green Communities’ standards and other green infrastructure site improvements.

JSD provided services including land surveying & mapping, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and construction services. JSD’s site design services also included the planning and design construction of Atticus Way public street extension with the City of Madison. JSD completed stormwater management design for the public street extension while the City completed the design of the streets per the Development Agreement.

Private site design development for the site included plans for demolition, grading and drainage, erosion control, utilities, landscaping, fire department access, stormwater management, and municipal entitlements and permitting.
