Iowa-based Hawkeye Hotels, Inc. worked with JSD on a five-acre area slotted to hold two hotels: a 70,000-square-foot, 137-room hotel and a 68,000-square-foot, 132-room hotel, with both buildings to be located in The Corridor development along I-94 in Brookfield, WI.

JSD’s scope of work included site civil design for both the Fairfield Inn and Suites as well as the Holiday Inn Express at The Corridor. Site design included pavement grading and drainage, storm sewer design, utility design and landscape design. Because a regional storm pond was designed prior to the hotels being built, the development added some challenges for JSD to meet stormwater requirements outlined in the regional stormwater management report for this area. Both hotels share one large parking lot that drained to storm inlets which move storm runoff to the stormwater pond.

The Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott and the Holiday Inn Express and Suites both measure four stories tall and include outdoor seating, a fitness room and a pool.
