JSD provided civil engineering services for the development of an eight-acre site into a full-service senior community including independent living apartments, assisted living and dementia care facilities in Madison, Wisconsin. JSD provided the full range of site civil services including site planning, grading, utility development, pavement and walkway design and stormwater management.

JSD worked with the project architect and landscape architect to create a unique living solution integrally connecting the care components of the community through the physical development of the site. Stormwater management facilities were integrated into the landscape design to provide opportunities to support outdoor care facilities.

JSD coordinated with the City of Madison and the land developer to develop a complimentary solution to the stormwater management and treatment for the site and surrounding development. JSD also worked with the various city agencies to resolve utility needs and access to the site.

The project was awarded InBusiness Magazine’s 2019 Commercial Design Award.
