As a graduate of Penn State University in Landscape Architecture, Janie has a range of experience in the broad field of Landscape Architecture, from working in a landscape nursery to developing commercial real estate. Janie has also designed at all scales, from high end residential garden design to entire town center layouts and everything in between.
She shares that if she could have any job in the world and didn’t have to necessarily be concerned about income, she would love to sell her vegetables on the side of the road like the Amish! Janie loves gardening, working in the yard and designing outdoor spaces at her home. If you asked her what she would do if she found a winning $10 million lottery ticket, she would quickly say, “I would buy the forests and fields all around my house to design and build an amazing public park to share with the community!”
If she has any free time, you will find her hiking, camping, working on constant home improvement projects, cooking or entertaining friends and family! Janie is married and has a son in his twenties, a daughter in college and four ridiculously spoiled cats!
If you were added as a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why?
Sunset pinkish-orange (it’s my favorite color)
If you have a pet(s), what would they say about you if we asked for a reference?
She’s terrible…she won’t let me sit on her lap when she is working!
Describe your life using a movie title
Wizard of Oz, since eventually I clicked my heels together long enough and ended up back home in Pennsylvania!
