Dave Jenkins, PLS

President/Chief Executive Officer

As chief executive officer of JSD Professional Services, Inc., Dave is responsible for ensuring corporate decisions are made for creating policy, maintaining positive corporate culture, and strategic planning and vision, while also overseeing the company’s fiscal activity and risk profile to include budgeting, reporting and auditing. His wide array of experience revolves around the services of planning and development; civil, transportation, structural and municipal engineering; water resources; landscape architecture; construction services; ecological/environmental services; land surveying and mapping; and development services.

Dave has managed multiple projects in several market sectors that consist of commercial/retail, education, healthcare, industrial, institutional, parks and recreation, and residential developments. He also has focused on government (federal, state, county) and municipal (city, village, town) projects.

Dave is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and often attributes his current success to his first-ever paid job as a hired hand at a neighboring farm.

Dave enjoys spending his free time with family and friends on vacations trips to their lake home in Northern Wisconsin. He especially enjoys his 1967 Ford Fairlane and 1965 Roadster, and if he is not cruising in that, he’s on the lake with a cold beer and a rod in his hand as he loves fishing and hunting. Dave is also an avid Badger fan, in addition to watching Packers, Brewers and Bucks games. Something you would NOT know about him from skimming his resume is that he once found himself gambling in Vegas with celebrity David Arquette and didn’t know he was sharing a table with a celebrity!

If there’s one quote Dave lives by on a daily basis, it would be “Achievements of an organization are the combined efforts of each individual,” as he feels strongly that a company is only as good as its staff. He shares that the most gratifying part of his role at JSD is simple: having a great staff and working with wonderful people, while watching the company grow and prosper. Dave added that he most looks forward to seeing what the future holds for JSD and its succession planning.

Dave has a wife and four children, along with two grandchildren and a small Shih Tzu dog named “Terrible Teddy” (see reasoning below for his name).

Describe your life using a movie title:
“The Gladiator” …since I’m competitive! Or “300” because I have great abs (work in progress!)

If you could build a brand-new phone app to do something helpful for you, what would it do?
It would find the catch of the day on the lake!

If we used your pet as a reference on you, what would he say?
I’m Dave’s buddy, and he lets me follow him around all day. This house used to be the hangout spot in the neighborhood, but I accidently bit a few of the local neighbor kids, so now Dave keeps things more private to just our family now.
