Summit Packaging was founded in 1995 by Scott Hohensinner to provide innovative packaging solutions. Summit supports every facet of packaging needs, material distribution, automation integration and technical support to agricultural, industrial and food processing industries to name a few. In 2021, they were in need of additional space and planned an addition to their current operations. JSD provided civil engineering and landscape architecture design. The services included a demolition, grading and drainage, utility, stormwater management and erosion control plans along with a landscape design plan to fit the Client’s budget and also meet Racine’s requirement.

JSD assessed the additional stormwater runoff generated by the expansion by investigating multiple solutions. Upon reviewing the calculations, needs, cost and possible future needs, our team designed two underground detention systems that included a large concrete pipe in one location and a chamber in another. The shop drawings and installation were provided by StormTrap. D.F. Tomasini was the contractor for the underground utilities. JSD’s coordination with the client, owner, contractor and underground storage consultant resulted in a successful project.
