Sugar Creek Commons is located within the new downtown overlay district in Verona, Wisconsin along the West Verona Avenue corridor. The development is a nine-acre area that features three building structures including mixed-use, residential and office land uses, structured and surface parking as well as open-space amenities.

JSD provided land surveying, planning, civil/structural engineering and landscape architectural services for the construction of the development. Interestingly, the site was determined to have contaminated soils as JSD played a key role in the coordination of a consultant team to perform Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, geotechnical investigations, site and soils remediation, landfill development in addition to reviewing/interpreting testing results and making recommendations to clients on construction, site design, remediation, and engineering to address site issues.

The project includes multiple phases beginning with two mixed-use buildings. Future phase development includes a residential building, while a hotel and convention center is planned connected and adjacent to Sugar Creek Commons. The overall site features an integrated master plan, open space, amenities and facilities to serve the commercial and resident user base. Initial phase construction started in the fall of 2018.
