Minimum Required
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering-Structural emphasis or related engineering field

Experience

Preferred: 2 – 5 years of experience in Structural Engineering design
**Commercial, Retail, and Residential site development a plus

Duties:
  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural components for various projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and environments.
  • Accurate and efficient production of detailed drawings, specifications, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Conduct and report on site visits to assess project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project disciplines to develop integrated solutions and meet deliverable timelines.
  • Perform structural calculations and simulations using industry-standard software.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, and regulations through self-learning and company provided training opportunities
Required Capabilities:
Must display a consistent:
  • Expanded knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE).
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software.
  • Expanded knowledge and application of fundamental engineering practices.
  • High degree attention to detail, time and task management, and organization.
  • Professional communication skills on multiple platforms including: in-person, phone, email, Teams, and in meetings.
  • Ability to multi-task on concurrent responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expanded knowledge of drafting standards and CAD software
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours as required to meet client, project and/or business demands.

  • Consistently demonstrates a minimum of intermediate level of Revit drafting skills, program functionality, and utilization of associated software.

Essential Functions of Position:
  • 6-8 hours a day on the computer
  • Must be able to safely drive a vehicle for meetings and site visits, occasionally for long distances
  • Physically able to meet OSHA regulations for being on an active construction site for site visits to active projects
  • Must be able to safely visit sites not yet under construction (outdoor conditions/terrain that may include: farmer fields, marshlands, flatlands, wooded areas) without accompaniment or supervision
  • Standing, walking, bending, squatting multiple times a day for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to safely climb ladders or scaffolding and willing to perform observations from a scissor or boom lift with safety equipment.
