St. Camillus Senior Living Tower

St. Camillus Life Plan Community offers a full spectrum of programs and services including an independent living community, an assisted living community, specialized memory care, skilled nursing, and short term rehabilitation. This new 15-story senior living high-rise is located across from the Milwaukee County Zoo. The new East Residence Tower will bring modern independent living apartments to the large campus operated by the not-for-profit, faith-based St. Camillus organization. The new residence follows construction that started in 2016 to build new assisted living and memory care apartments and will have 168 apartments for senior renters.

JSD provided the full range of site civil services including boundary/topographic surveys, construction staking, site control/layout, site planning, entitlement assistance, grading, utility development, pavement/walkway design, landscape architecture, stormwater management and construction administration.

JSD worked hand in hand with the project architect and multiple disciplines to match grades of two existing buildings and other various locations throughout the site and coordinate the upgrade to the existing water system and sanitary sewer services. Storm water was addressed with the installation of two separate above-ground dry detention basins, an underground pipe storage system, an underground storm water vault and three filtration vaults to meet MMSD stormwater requirements.

Finally JSD’s landscape architecture team provided renderings during the entitlement process that were key in describing how a proposed berm would address neighbor concerns on light pollution and screening from a proposed truck dock/delivery area.
