Platteville Fire Station

Platteville, WI

The City of Platteville is building a new Fire Station to enhance safe and efficient operations and address challenges found in their Comprehensive Analysis of the Fire Department done in 2021.

JSD provided professional civil engineering and landscape architecture for the development, while also coordinating geotechnical exploration for the building layout and stormwater management facilities. This project also included a major focus on parking lot design and layout.

Our design team reviewed the schematic design, and took the lead on design development for the municipal submittal. This included a stormwater management plan. Our team also provided permitting applications to the appropriate agencies. Lastly, scope included offering construction drawings as well as bidding assistance and construction administration.

The new fire station will have an increased apparatus bay to adequately house all fire apparatus and proper equipment storage space. Improvements concerning wellness and growth are handled with the creation of a decontamination area for firefighters returning from response calls and living spaces for future full-time firefighters.
