River Forest residents asked for an accessible playground—and JSD was ready to help bring that vision to life at Constitution Park. Our landscape architects partnered with Illinois’ River Forest Park District to transform the community’s vision into an inclusive and engaging destination for children of all abilities.

Our team hosted two community meetings to gather resident feedback and better understand what the community wanted from the new playground. Their input helped shape the final design, resulting in an accessible playground for children ages 2–12. The playground features a play structure with ramp access for mobility users, a sensory wall, spinner, musical elements, swings, and shade sails.

The reimagined Constitution Park also features a ballfield, soccer field, restroom-equipped shelter, sand volleyball courts, and even ice skating.
