JSD’s landscape architecture team worked with the Community Park District on the renovation of Memorial Park’s existing tennis court area. JSD prepared conceptual plans, imagery boards, and a fundraising graphic to assist the Park District in raising funds for the new court complex.

The beautifully renovated court area includes three pickleball courts, two tennis courts, and a multi-use area for children of all abilities to engage in recreation. A gaga ball pit, tether ball, mini track races, children’s fitness course, and a National Fitness Court are included in the multi-use area. The Park District and local fitness provider have collaborated to provide outdoor recreation classes utilizing the National Fitness Court.

Our landscape architecture team also developed the construction bid documents, led the bidding process and provided contract administration and construction observation.

The project was awarded the prestigious 2021 Outstanding Park and Facility Award by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) in January of 2022.
