JSD provided engineering services for the redevelopment of the former Roundy’s Distribution Center into a 275,000-square foot open-air upscale retail center located at USH 45 and Burleigh Street in the City of Wauwatosa.

The project included the adaptive reuse of existing industrial buildings, over a mile of new water main and sanitary sewer, the reconditioning of portions of the existing sewer systems, and other major infrastructure improvements, including new innovative stormwater management facilities. Because of the anticipated increase in traffic flow, the team designed the improvements to West Burleigh Street and USH 45 including additional lanes for through traffic and turning movements along with traffic signalization. JSD also worked closely with the City of Wauwatosa and the Department of Transportation to provide design and plans for the additional lanes on the entrance and exit ramps for USH 45, the major traffic route for access to the site.

The Mayfair Collection project received the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2015 Real Estate Award. The project was also included in the list of projects to receive the Daily Reporters 2014 Top Projects of the Year Award.
