For more than 20 years, JSD has been a trusted partner to the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), delivering comprehensive civil and site engineering, planning, landscape architecture, and construction‑related services. Throughout this longstanding relationship, our work has consistently focused on creating safe, accessible, and high‑performing school facilities that meet the evolving needs of students and staff.

Most recently, JSD played a central role in supporting MMSD’s successful 2024 referendum, which advanced improvements across seven school sites and included five new schools and two major remodels. Our team provided full site and civil planning services, completed land surveying, designed stormwater management systems, and prepared landscape architecture plans. We also developed district‑wide design and development standards to streamline future projects and ensure consistent quality.

In addition, JSD coordinated the developer’s agreement and guided the district through the City of Madison’s entitlement and approval processes—ensuring each project progressed efficiently and in alignment with municipal requirements. This work supported improvements at the following schools:
