Madison College is a public technical and community college based in Madison, Wisconsin. JSD provided professional engineering and surveying services for the Madison College Truax Campus for the design of their Protective Services Building, Health Education Building, Gateway Building and the Ingenuity Building as well as the stormwater conveyance system, new parking lots, and utility infrastructure. The surveying services included researching public records to obtain copies of existing maps and records to include boundary, existing utilities, culverts, bridges, wetlands, navigable waterways and floodplains within the campus. The survey included detailed information on each of the proposed construction areas within the Truax Campus.

Civil engineering services included hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, water quality analysis and utility design for the initial phase of construction while providing capacity for the final master plan for the campus as a whole. The hydrologic and hydraulic analysis included calculating peak runoff rates and volumes for the campus and surrounding watersheds, modeling of existing hydraulic structures, and identifying problematic areas for the existing conditions and for the proposed campus master plan. The Water Quality Analysis included modeling for nonpoint source pollutant loadings for the existing campus and for the proposed campus master plan.

JSD provided the final construction documents for the initial phase of construction including the Protective Services, Health Education, Gateway & Ingenuity Building, a revised public stormwater conveyance system and new parking lots. JSD provided the design for the relocated public sanitary sewer within the campus to accommodate the desired building locations. JSD also provided the design for the private utility extensions for each of the projects including gas, electric, fiber optic, storm, sanitary, and water services.
