JSD provided professional services to Madison College for the Culinary Arts Program Expansion project, including survey, planning, engineering, and landscape architecture services. The JSD Design Team worked collaboratively in tandem with the owner-selected architect for a $15.6 million, 13,500-square-foot expansion for the Culinary Arts Program and administrative offices located on Madison College’s Truax Campus. The JSD Design Team developed a unique site plan targeted at improving site circulation, wayfinding, and student drop-off and outdoor spaces.

The JSD Design Team also developed a unique landscape plan that was focused on providing year-round color and texture as well as being complementary to the architecture of the building, softening outdoor seating areas, and creating inviting building entries. In addition, JSD played a key role in the coordination and facilitation of land use entitlements, permitting, and construction administration.

The project was awarded InBusiness Magazine’s 2018 Commercial Design Award.
