One of Hy-Vee’s newest locations, which took over an existing 120,000-square-foot former K-Mart site, is a flagship location in Eau Claire that includes everything but the kitchen sink: a DSW shoe store kiosk area, a Starbucks, a nail salon, an expanded wine/spirits section and their new aisles online kiosk built right up against the side of the store for easy pick up!

Our team provided land surveying, civil engineering, environmental site assessment and landscape design services which interestingly included building back in additional green space within the old K-Mart parking lot for improved site layout.

With the site proximity and the age and use of the site with a previous retailer, our planning team carried out an extensive environmental site assessment. This was followed by our civil design team submitting a preliminary site design with a number of plans to support their findings. These plans included an analysis for site traffic circulation; grading and earthwork plans; utility routing; preliminary stormwater management routing and sizing; and lastly, a traffic impact analysis and study due to the proximity of the site.
