Green County Courthouse
- Monroe, Wisconsin
- Green County
- 2007 - 2008
The $12.5 million development for a new courthouse was designed jointly by a Madison area architectural firm in conjunction with JSD. JSD provided a stormwater management plan (SWMP), which included site-specific storm water calculations and the erosion control, grading & utility plan; peak runoff rates for the 2, 10, and 100-year storm events; stable outlet design; sediment control; oil and grease control; and infiltration. An extensive landscape plan was prepared for the entire site as well as pedestrian circulation analysis and options for walkway and path alignments. Softscape and hardscape elements were combined for two special treatment areas, including a high visibility courtyard near the entrance and a plaza area which serves as a focal point to enhance the entrance of the building. Additionally, JSD provided a legal description and exhibit for the creation of an easement for a detention pond. ADA accessibility and compliance was an important factor in the design of this public facility.
JSD provided construction administration services which included the review of testing reports and contractor submittals, and RFI clarifications. JSD prepared an intersection improvement plan for the new driveway access to the courthouse which included stationing, paving and stripping details, intersection geometrics, horizontal and vertical alignment, traffic control, vertical curve information, appropriate elevations, and cross sections.
