Our landscape architects recently completed a Comprehensive Master Plan for the Community Park District of La Grange Park. This plan provided a realistic guide for creative development/management of the District’s parks, recreation facilities, and programs for now and into the future.

The Plan serves as an implementation tool, providing strategies for addressing the District’s mission and vision, and includes an action plan to assist with future planning of parks, facilities, programs and services based on current analysis and community input.  It also serves as a guide for resource allocation and prioritized action planning to shape the parks and recreation in La Grange Park through 2027.

The JSD team is currently preparing a Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC) Grant for the Park District which will address one of the key requests included in the master plan–an updated Recreation Center! Focus group participants, staff, and survey respondents shared significant concerns about the need for additional indoor recreation space. Many residents expressed a desire for an expanded indoor facility, and emphasized the need for a recreation center that provides indoor fitness, walking and running track, and indoor courts. The walking track was voted the top indoor facility need, and additional gym space was ranked second in the statistically valid survey. We are excited to already help the District implement one of the recommendations from our comprehensive master plan!
