Who doesn’t love their holiday delicacies wrapped in bacon? JSD is “sizzling” with this new bacon processing plant in Davenport, IA.

Our team joined Fair Oaks Foods, headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, WI, on the construction of their new bacon processing plant. Working alongside the Austin Company, JSD did full site engineering for more than 30 acres with a detailed site plan, grading, stormwater plans, entitlements/permitting and site utilities plans. Interestingly, our team was instructed to avoid design of any wet stormwater basins to eliminate indoor contamination from outdoor bird droppings. Between that requirement, as well as the stormwater code, our designers had a chance to showcase their use of bioswales, biofilters and dry detention basins.
