Fair Oaks Foods, a family-owned meat processing company based in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, will bring nearly 250 new jobs to the area. The $134 million facility will expand Fair Oaks’ supply of custom meats to restaurant chains and food companies — this location to focus on bacon processing.

JSD provided full site engineering for more than 30 acres with a detailed site plan, grading, stormwater plans, entitlements/permitting and site utilities plans. Our team was instructed to avoid design of any wet stormwater basins to eliminate indoor contamination from outdoor bird droppings. Between that requirement, as well as the stormwater code, our designers had a chance to showcase their use of bioswales, biofilters and dry detention basins.
