JSD provided professional design services for the construction of the Vogel Bros. Corporate Offices located on Madison’s east side. Together, with the Vogel Bros. and architectural teams, JSD played a key role in the facilitation of a collaborative design process that was geared towards meeting LEED Gold standards. These standards included those related to site design and layout, maintaining natural drainage patterns and landscapes, providing opportunities for transportation alternatives, landscaping, energy efficiency, and limiting resource consumption.

While designed as primarily a one-story building, a limited second story was incorporated into the building’s design to create a vertical building element. The overall building design accentuates horizontal lines within the facade and includes elements of Prairie-style architecture which are primarily clad in masonry.

A key component of the building’s LEED Gold certification was the landscape design, which was provided by the JSD Landscape Architecture Team. The landscape plantings and elements were designed to complement and accentuate the Prairie-style building design. Plantings were selected that would provide year-round foliage, texture, and color.
