JSD Professional Services, Inc, with offices located throughout Wisconsin and the US, is seeking a dynamic, forward thinking, and high energy master of numbers to join our Corporate team in our Madison Regional Office (Verona, WI).

This role requires a high level of professionalism, a passion for client service and accurate accounting, strong computer skills, fortitude to work efficiently through busy times and take initiative during slower times, and a zest for learning and being a part of the success and growth of our firm. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of professional service firm accounting experience and a proficient knowledge of accounting practices.

Responsibilities Include: (but are not limited to)
  • Facilitate, process, and oversee the monthly invoicing for all Project Managers
  • Identify Client contract/billing requests via contract document review and communication.
  • Become proficient in Client-Specific contract/billing portals (WisDOT/CARS, Textura, Taulia, GCPay, Dealforce, Etc).
  • Contribute to the development of invoicing methodologies and application tool enhancements
  • Assist in the Accounts Receivable function, including monthly client billing and collections
  • Receive & process Accounts Payable data; Process payment disbursements vendors
  • Assist with budget, tax, as well as month and year-end reporting preparations and compliance (Fixed Asset Schedules, Personal Property Tax, Sales & Use Tax, WisDOT)
  • Assist in performing the payroll function, including staff labor & expense review, data entry, reconciliation, and other payroll-related efforts
  • Practical and experience knowledge of regulated accounting practices (GAAP) is expected

  • Ability to efficiently analyze financial transactions and make original or adjusting entries
  • Ability to read and comprehend financial transactions
  • Ability to understand and apply current accounting guidelines, system updates and revisions, and policy changes.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or higher in the accounting/business field
  • 3+ years of professional service firm accounting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Intuit, virtual meetings, and server/cloud-based
    file structures
